Since 1980, the Burlington Summer Farmers’ Market has been held every Saturday from late spring through autumn in downtown Burlington’s City Hall Park, just off of the Church Street Marketplace. More than 80 stands overflow with seasonal produce, flowers, artisan wares, prepared foods, and more. People gather to wander around, chat with growers and friends, and fill their baskets with some of the best food money can buy.

BIGGER THAN T-REX: Giant and Mysterious Killer Dinosaurs

BURLINGTON, Vt. — ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center latest traveling exhibit, Bigger Than T-Rex, opens to the public on Saturday, May 25.

This is the largest and first-ever exhibit of killer dinosaurs to visit Vermont and features both full skeletons and skulls from a variety of meat eating animals that roamed the earth millions of years ago.

The exhibit also features some of the original dinosaur models used in two of the Jurassic Park films.

The highlight of the exhibit is the impressive 45 foot long skeleton of the Giganotasaurus, one of the largest dinosaurs thought to roam the earth more than 100 million years ago. This particular skeleton was unearthed in 1991 in the Patagonia region.

Giant dinosaur skulls can also be viewed, some as large as an average car. Visitors will note the many holes in these skulls which served as openings for breathing and seeing but also as a way to lighten the weight of the skull in relation to the animal’s body.

The full Bigger Than T-Rex exhibit, which opens at ECHO May 25, will be at the science center through September 2. The exhibit includes, a Velociraptor skeleton and robot as well as the skeleton of Toujiangosaurus and Monolophosaurus, and the skulls of Mapusaurus, Allosaurus, Albertosaurus, Deinonychus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The exhibit also includes a dinosaur digging pit, many fossil replicas, a “Wheel of Dinosaur Misfortune” game and a film of an excavation of a Mapusaurus skeleton.

The FAIR comes to town….early..at University Mall! Miller Amusements will present 15 rides, games, and concessions in the U-Mall parking lot, free admission. Some rides include Tilt-A-Whirl, Tornado, The Zipper, and more. Thursday & Friday 5-10, Saturday & Sunday 12 Noon-10pm, Monday (Memorial Day) 12 Noon-6pm.

RIDES: Bracelets are available during the fair for $18. Bracelets are valid Thursday & Friday 5-10, Saturday-Monday 12-5. Individual tickets are available at the fair also, see ticket booth for specific pricing.
