Do you wish you could transport yourself to Paris for a day? Your wish can come true on November 16 and 17 when Deja Nous will share an evening of French Cabaret music at the North End Studios, located at 294 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington. Shows will begin at 7:00pm and the cost is $18.00. Tickets will be available at the door.
Deja Nous’ repertoire features various periods and styles of popular and jazz songs all presented in the pure tradition of French Cabaret called “Music-Hall.” Deja Nous delivers compelling and entertaining interpretations of the songs of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Claude Nougaro, Charles Aznavour, Yves Montand, Charles Trenet, and others.
Deja Nous has performed at many Burlington venues including Leunig’s Bistro, the Flynn Theater and FlynnSpace, The Firehouse Gallery, Saint Michael’s College, at the Discover Jazz Festival, and on The Church Street Marketplace. Regional performances have included The Strand Theater in Plattsburgh, The Bee’s Knees in Morrisville, The Lake Placid Lodge, The International Jazz Festival in Essex, and Smuggler’s Notch Resort in Jeffersonville, as well as at Market Fests, FrancoFetes, and other major functions organized by the Alliance Francaise.
The members of this group include musicians Jean-Jacques Psuate, vocals; Dave Whittle, percussion; Peter K.K. Williams, bass; and Rob Guerrina, piano.
