Buy Local! Support your farmers! Eat organic!
These aren’t just clichés that make great bumper stickers. They are responsible ways of life. The UVM Farmer Training Program is making it easy for you to hop aboard!
Come buy sustainably-grown vegetables, herbs and flowers weekly in front of the Bailey Howe library, starting June 5 and continuing through October 16th. The farm stand will be open on Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 5:30pm!
On June 5th, seasonal offerings include an array of tender lettuces, radishes, spring turnips, and tomato and basil plants that you can plant in your own garden. And of course as the season progresses, there will be much more variety!
The Farmer Training Program, through Continuing Education, is a 6-month intensive program designed to teach potential future farmers through hands-on experience in the field, classroom lecture, and field trips. The education is not limited to simply growing vegetables, but marketing them as well!
