The Vermont International Festival will be celebrating its 21st year of bringing the world to Vermont! This festival showcases the diversity of Vermont with crafts, food, dancing and musical performances representing cultures from all over the world.
The 2013 Vermont International Festival will be held Friday, December 6th through Sunday December 8th, at the Champlain Valley Exposition, Route 15/Pearl Street in Essex Junction. There is unlimited, free parking and it is handicapped-accessible. CCTA provides public bus service to the Champlain Valley Exposition grounds.
Two stages of nonstop music and dance will feature performers such as Va-et-Vient, On the Border Morris, A2VT, Lokum, Group Anwar, the Heather Morris Celtic Dance Company, Thích Giác Thiện, and many more. There will be an International fashion show, and throughout the weekend, Polish Piper, Rik Palieri will be playing while wandering through the crowd.
Over forty vendors will sell reasonably-priced, unique, imported handcrafts from countries all over the world including India, Guatemala, Uzbekistan, Haiti, Zimbabwe, China, Mexico, Colombia, Kenya, Tibet, and many other far-away places. Delicious and affordable ethnic foods will be available, including African, Turkish, Iranian, Bosnian and Italian, just to name a few.
Friday, December 6th is Children’s Day, when busloads of children from all over Vermont experience firsthand the excitement of having a passport stamped by all of the countries represented at this celebration of the arts.
Dates and hours for the Vermont International Festival are: Friday, December 6th, 5pm-8pm; Saturday, December 7th, 10am-6pm; Sunday, December 8th, 10am- 5pm.
Tickets will be on sale at the door: $7 for adults; $5 for children 6-12 years old; $5 for seniors (65+); $20 family pass; children under 6 are FREE. Admission is good for the entire weekend.
