Artist’s Talk: “Self-Confessed: The Inappropriately Intimate Comics of Alison Bechdel”

Alison Bechdel

From her long-running comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For, to her family memoirs Fun Home and Are You My Mother?, Artist Allison Bechdel has explored in graphic detail the overlap between the personal and the political, the domestic and the global. Join UVM’s Department of English and the Vermont Humanities Council for an evening in which Bechdel talks about how her cartooning has evolved over the past four decades, and discusses the strange alchemy that happens when one draws and writes at the same time.

Co-sponsored by the UVM Department of English and the Vermont Humanities Council

NOTE: The talk takes place at UVM’s Davis Center in the Silver Maple Ballroom. Free Admission.
