Black Angels Over Tuskegee
Black Angels Over Tuskegee – UVM/Flynn Center Diversity Partnership
The Office of the Vice President for Human Resources, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs through the UVM President’s Initiative for Diversity and the Flynn Center would like to highlight a special performance, “Black Angels Over Tuskegee”, scheduled on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.
“Inspired by true events, this historical docu-drama follows six brave African American men on a journey to become the first aviators in the US Army Air Force during the era of 20th century racial segregation and Jim Crow idealism. United in brotherhood, the Tuskegee Airmen conquered isolation and prejudice to become one of the most highly-respected fighter groups in World War II, and their achievements paved the way for full integration of the US military. This powerful piece of theater comes to the Flynn direct from its off-Broadway run in New York.”
Tickets are only $10 for UVM faculty, staff and students. Just show your UVM ID when purchasing tickets in person at the FlynnTix Regional Box Office (153 Main Street in Burlington, VT) to take advantage of this special offer.
