Body Image: What’s Hurting, What’s Helping and What’s Healing?
In recognition of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, February 24th – 28th, please join UVM staff and students to kick off BODY LIBERATION WEEK with a world cafe-style dinner and discussion on Body Image: What’s Hurting, What’s Helping, and What’s Healing?
At this event, we attendees are encouraged to explore their own relationships with food and their bodies, examine what influences these relationships, and share or imagine ways they can build a more loving and healing relationship to their bodies.
This event is open to UVM students, faculty, and staff of all identities. The World Café format allows UVM community members to come together to critically explore the social systems that oppress bodies, and look towards ways to reconnect and heal. Those who have gathered for previous World Café gatherings report having found shared motivation for continued collaboration leading to concrete action steps.
