Chromaticats & Jazz Vocal Ensemble

The UVM Chromaticats combo and Jazz Vocal Ensemble present “What’s Your Story: the music of Mary Lou Williams and other great women jazz composers.”

Centered on three classic compositions by Mary Lou Williams (‘What’s Your Story, Morning Glory’, ‘In The Land of Oo-Bla-Dee’ and the rarely performed ‘Saint Martin de Porres’), the program also includes music by more recent composers including Geri Allen and Carla Bley, as well as a new piece by Vermont composer Ben Patton, ‘Three Little Sisters’, from his recent album ‘Our Follies’.

Tom Cleary and Amber deLaurentis, directors. Free and open to the public.
