Mindfulness & Meditation for People of Color w/Mark Reck
Mindfulness? Isn’t that for white people? Actually, mindfulness was originally developed, practiced, and taught by people of color in the east – India, Nepal, Tibet, Burma, China, and many other eastern countries.
In this weekly drop-in, honoring the roots of mindfulness and in community with other POC students, staff, and faculty, you will learn practices that can support your well-being, your academic performance, and the cultivation of deep wisdom and compassion. The class is led by Mark Reck, a CAPS Psychologist and a UVM Mindfulness staff facilitator. Come once and check it out or make it a Thursday evening ritual. This weekly drop-in, held at the MCSC, is FREE and open to all POC students, staff, and faculty.
