Our Voice – Discussion on Neurodivergence and Disability

A patient-centered medical narrative series that involves a monthly discussion with people from a certain background, culture, and/ or community sharing their lived experience and their community’s interactions with the western health care system. Such topics that will be covered are: community culture, relationship and interactions with the healthcare system, gaps in care or health care needs that need to be better addressed, and what the community individuals would like the medical community, and broader community, to know.

The mission of this program is to give a platform to various communities underrepresented in medicine, better educate the medical community on the needs and experiences of those they serve/ will serve, and to help instill greater awareness and understanding. At the end of each event will be a presentation of the various organizations supporting these communities and how people can get involved.
