Concert: Silent Tides and Kudu Stooge
Silent Tides is a Jersey-bred electric grit-rock trio that offers a multitude of moods, their rhythms ranging from groovy all the way to the borders of punk. Although they only formed formally a year ago, they’ve been playing music together since high school. Silent Tides puts an emphasis on live energy and originality, their sets traditionally being almost to entirely original material. Having two lead singers helps them to constantly change sounds up, switching instruments as well. Even though they don’t really fall into jam-band territory, their improvised instrumentals evoke a comparable looseness.
Kudu Stooge is a 4-piece collective of musicians based in Burlington on their way to their first string of live gigs, playing from a full length album’s worth of original songs soon to be released on an unnamed album this summer. With this enigmatic emergence comes a blend of stylings influenced by blues, psych-rock, funk, and jazz artists, viciously headed and shredded by lefty and righty guitarists, and accompanied by a rhythmic ensemble of funky fresh bass and savagely precise drums. Kudu Stooge is looking to take Burlington by a summer storm; they’re a silly animal.
Event is 18 and up, if you’re under 21 it’s $5 and over is free!
