SMOREs Sophomore Summer Camp – Registration Deadline

Sophomore Summer Camp (Aug 26-28th) is a fun-filled early arrival experience for second-year students only! Taking place the weekend before the start of the semester, UVM Outdoor Programs has rented out an entire camp on South Hero Island in Lake Champlain for you and your fellow sophomores to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect before beginning year two. Sophomore Summer Camp will have something for everyone, and plenty of options for you to choose from! Activities such as archery, ax throwing, art & crafts, canoeing, swimming, board games, intramural sports, mindfulness, and sailing are all on the menu. Evenings will be spent with additional activities like campfires, connective conversations, and maybe even capture the flag! Meals from dinner on Friday through brunch on Sunday will be served at camp.

This experience is also open to transfer students, spring start ’21 students, and others who identify as a second-year student.  Registration priority for this experience is given to students who did not participate in the first-year TREK program.  There is a program fee of $125 to participate, and financial assistance is available for students in need.

For more details, please visit our Sophomore Experiences website.  To pre-register for this event and to sign up for SMOREs program updates, complete this form.  Full registration for this event and for other SMOREs fall programs will be coming over the summer.

UVM’s Outdoor Programs, and Living Well are thrilled to be collaborating on a new season of SMOREs programs for the 2022-2023 academic year!  SMOREs (Sophomore Mindfulness and Outdoor Re-orientation Experiences) aims to provide second-year students with meaningful opportunities to connect, reflect, and reorient to their UVM experience while building new community in a unique setting beyond the structures of routine student life.
