Trees on Skis: Winter Tree ID at Burlington’s Intervale

Looking for leaves to identify trees makes identification easier, but what do we do in winter? We’ll focus on other parts of the tree: bark, buds, branching patterns, and habitat. Join Audubon Vermont for an afternoon of cross country skiing through the lovely trails of Burlington’s Intervale while we we build our winter tree identification skills. We will also pause to explore anything else that we come across, such as animal tracks and signs, as well as bird songs and sighting.

Bring your own skis and dress in warm layers. If you don’t have skis, no problem! We have teamed up with Skirack for ski rentals, see details below.

Fee: Audubon members $10; Non-members $15. Ski/boot rental fee $15 at Skirack
