meditate and connect

Mondays at 5-6PM in the Living Well Studio

Looking to make authentic connections at UVM and develop some mindfulness skills? Come join us, we want to meet you! Sessions will start with a guided meditation such as lovingkindness, breath focus, body scan, or gratitude. Then we will have time for meaningful connection and sharing about heartful topics. Mindfulness is essentially a practice of coming home again and again to the present moment with kindness and nonjudgmental curiosity. From this space of presence we can let go of self-judgment and connect to one another with more ease. Contrary to what you might have heard, mindfulness meditation is not about clearing your mind or getting rid of thoughts. So if you think, “I can’t meditate because my mind is always running,” no need to worry! Mindfulness is about learning to accept ourselves, our thoughts, and strong emotions – not making them go away! Come by yourself or bring a friend with you! Open to all levels of experience and all identities! Newcomers welcomed and encouraged to join. Open to all staff, students and faculty!

No registration required, just drop in!

The UVM mindfulness program affirms the inherent worth and dignity in all living beings. We welcome and celebrate people of every race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, body size, ability, religion, and citizenship status. And we are actively working to investigate bias and challenge racism and all forms of oppression.
