meditate and connect!

Wednesdays at 3PM in Living Well!!!!

Looking for a supportive community to practice/learn meditation and connect with others? Drop in and check out the UVM Mindfulness community! Each week will include a guided meditation, short movement practice, and time for sharing and connection. Mindfulness is essentially a practice of coming home again and again to the present moment with kindness and nonjudgmental curiosity. Contrary to what you might have heard, mindfulness meditation is not about clearing your mind or getting rid of thoughts. So if you think, “I can’t meditate because my mind is always running,” no need to worry!  Mindfulness is about learning to accept ourselves, our thoughts, and strong emotions – not making them go away! Come by yourself or bring a friend with you! Open to all levels of experience and all identities! Newcomers welcomed and encouraged to join. Open to all staff, students and faculty!

The UVM mindfulness program affirms the inherent worth and dignity in all living beings. We welcome and celebrate people of every race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, body size, ability, religion, and citizenship status. And we are actively working to investigate bias and challenge racism and all forms of oppression.
