World Suicide Prevention Day
Every September Suicide Prevention Awareness Week is recognized. On September 10 the International Community recognizes International Suicide Prevention Day as the World Health Organization estimates that we lose 800,000 people a year to suicide. This estimate is conservative, with the real figure likely to be higher because of the stigma associated with suicide, lack of reliable death recording procedures, and religious or legal sanctions against suicide in some countries.
Please stop by our table in the Davis Center atrium to receive a LOVE henna tatoo, talk about why stepping up and helping a friend is important and learn more about suicide prevention.
