Yoga for People of Color

Yoga begins to integrate mind, body and heart. This is an ancient practice dating back thousands of years originating in India. The practice of moving toward optimal alignment leads into a space in which you are able to better understand yourselves, your mind, and to see patterns you unknowingly repeat.

In this session they will practice pranayama, breathing practices, that will energize and soothe your nervous systems. They will practice asana, postures, which support the physical body to be in optimal alignment. Throughout each class a variety of options and modifications will be offered. What to wear: clothes that you feel comfortable in and that give you range of motion. No prior experience needed. No flexibility required. Free and open to POC students, staff, and faculty. No registration required. Just drop-in!
