Bright Half Life Auditions

“The thing is: soulmates.” Enter into Bright Half Life, into the world of Vicky and Erica: two women who are sometimes in love, sometimes not, but always seem to find themselves inextricably linked. Playwright Tanya Barfield writes a swirling, earnest story of a relationship that exists in the past, present, and future all at the same time. Vicky and Erica meet, go on dates, fight, break up, and… skydive? Nothing is linear and nothing is permanent – except maybe each other – for this couple. Explore love, honesty, and forgiveness in Bright Half Life.

The UVM Department of Theatre and Dance is holding auditions for Bright Half Half! As the first play of the 2023-24 season, Bright Half Life follows Erica and Vicky’s relationship of 20 years before, during, and after the legalization of same-sex marriage. Told non-linearly, this play asks who and what is there to hold on to as we jump into the future. Bright Half Life will run from October 4th-8th, 2023.
