Engaging the Personal & the Professional: One Multiracial Jewish Woman’s Story

Dr. Peony Fhagen, a higher education leader for over 20 years, shares her story of intersectionality, invisibility, multiple marginalities, triumph, and resistance. Through this conversational-style presentation, she will discuss how her intersecting identities as a multiracial, Jewish, Black, disabled, cisgender, heterosexual, female-identifying woman have shaped her experiences challenging the status quo in academia from student, to professor, to administrator. Open to all UVM staff, students, and faculty. RSVP is required as space is limited. Register at go.uvm.edu/engaging.
