First Nations’ Reading Room Open House feat. Beverly Little Thunder

Join the First Nations’ Collective for the First Nations’ Reading Room Open House featuring Lakota Elder, author, visionary and spiritual teacher, Beverly Little Thunder.

The open house will include:

  • A brief talk & Lakota ceremony with Beverly Little Thunder – Celebration or Devastation: a Lakota woman’s thoughts on Thanksgiving
    • On a day declared a time for celebration of abundance, many Indigenous people mourn. It marked a time of genocide and cultural devastation for many nations who were eventually affected adversely by this supposed “first” Thanksgiving
  • Coffee, tea, seltzer, and snacks following the talk and ceremony

The CESS First Nations’ Reading Room is dedicated to the elevation of Indigenous voices and the celebration and preservation of Indigenous knowledge, history, and culture. It is a place where Indigenous people can come together to read and learn about their own history, as well as to share their stories and experiences with others. It is an inclusive space where everyone is welcome to learn and engage with indigenous perspectives and experiences. Whether you have Indigenous heritage or a desire to learn more about Indigenous cultures, stop by our cozy lounge at the Mosaic Center, grab a book from the shelf and start reading!
