Presidential Aiken Lecture with Zeynep Tufekci on “Lessons on the Dacade of Social Media”

Head to the UVM Alumni House for a talk by a leading authority on the influence of social media on politics, protest movements, and regime change—the Princeton sociologist whom the Chronicle of Higher Education calls “one of the most prominent academic voices on how Facebook and other companies collect data and threaten privacy” and the figure who, according to the New York Times, “keeps getting the big things right.”

Tufekci will reflect on lessons learned from a decade studying social media. Zeynep Tufekci is a NYT writer and author of  Twitter and Teargas.
