Dr. Megan Goodwin (author, podcaster, and visiting assistant professor of Religion @ Bates College) is coming to UVM to talk about the infamous events at Jonestown, in which some 918 people lost their lives. “Raising the Jonestown Dead: Misogynoir, Minority Religions, & How We Misremember People’s Temple” is a talk about this tragic event, how it is remembered, and how its memory sits at an intersection of anti-Blackness, anti-religion, and misogyny.

Dr. Goodwin is a nationally-known author and scholar of minority religions, American history, gender, and race.
