ONEIDA'S FAVORITE EVENT: Letters to Loved ones
As a student that comes from the far, far west of Fort Collins, Colorado; I love any sort of event that can connect me to home in any sort of way. One of the first events that I saw when I came to UVM’s campus was “Letter’s to Loved Ones” and it has become one of my favorite traditions to write to the people I loved most. This was one of those “retro, old school” type of things that I know I would most likely never do on my own accord, but it was there, and it was something that I know my mom would love to get. Easily this has become one of my favorite things to send my mom, and she has all my previous postcards on the fridge to this day. So, through your busy, hectic, first week of classes; take a moment and write to a loved one ❤️
CORINNE'S FAVORITE EVENT: Art Attack!
As an avid crafter, there are few events that can top our weekly Art Attack in my eyes. From jewelry making to crocheting to whatever other niche craft you can conjure, Art Attack has you covered. I’m going to let you in on a little secret too… our first one this semester is going to be Junk Journals, and personally, I am quite excited. So, keep your eye out for misc FDOC scraps and WOW memories that you can save and bring to Thursday’s Art Attack!
ONEIDA'S RUNNER UP: PUB QUIZ
Fun fact, this past year I was the “Pub Quiz Master”, meaning I planned every single pub quiz throughout the year. That statement alone should tell you just how much I love pub quiz. Now you might be thinking, “Wow, this girl knows ball on a lot of niche topics”. No, not at all. I really participate for the love of the game. I have yet to win one of the super cool pub quiz glass cups (which are in fact specially branded with the Pub Quiz logo), but you’ll still see me there almost every Wednesday from 8-10 pm. I’m hoping this final year I’ll win one round, so I can finally add the special pub quiz glasses to my collection. So come to pub quiz, show your knowledge (or if you’re like me, lack thereof), and have some fun.
CORINNE'S RUNNER UP: FRIENDLY FEUD
Let me introduce you to one of my (anticipated) favorite WOW events. Drum roll please…. Friendly Feud featuring Burlington’s favorite drag queens! Now doesn’t that sound so awesome?! This never-before-seen event is the perfect chance for those who get wayyyy too competitive to show off their skills. And the cherry on top is our UVM twist: instead of “Survey Says”, the game will be based around “UVM Says”, using real responses from our audience members! Though I am admittedly biased, I have a strong inkling that this is going to be the highlight of WOW, so make sure to register with your chosen family for a chance to compete!

Now first, we’d love to thank you for taking the time to read this. As you can tell, we spend a lot of time on campus finding things to do, and creating events that hopefully you enjoy as well. But in order for our events to really be “for the students by the students” we hope to see you throughout the first week of classes, not only at our favorite events, but any of the other events that seemed to pique your interest.
