Position Overview
UVM BORED (not to be confused with UVM Program Board) is a student-led program operating out of the Department of Student Life. The goal of UVM BORED is to provide the UVM community with the inside scoop on all things happening both on and off campus. We love UVM (Go, Cats, Go!), living in Burlington, and spreading the word about awesome things happening in the area.
The UVM BORED team is tasked first and foremost, with running and maintaining the UVM BORED website and events calendar. This includes:
- Reviewing and approving community event submissions and adding
- Finding new and exciting events that may not exist
- Spreading the word about the calendar as a resource to both students and local vendors, clubs and orgs, and departments who could benefit from its use
- Promoting both in-person and digital events and opportunities for on-campus, off-campus, and remote learning students
- Brainstorming and executing campaign ideas
- Writing long-form blogs and/or filming video projects
In addition to collectively managing the calendar, each BOREDie takes the lead on an area of our marketing mix, serving as a Platform Captain for one of the following: Instagram, TikTok, Blog, Newsletter, Web, and Tabling. We communicate about events and activities, run contests, give out swag, and engage with our community through these platforms.
Students on the BORED Team gain leadership experience, take responsibility for all BORED communications, and continue to grow and respond to technology. A perfect job for individuals interested in digital marketing and communication!
