If you’re a long time BORED user, our event submission page might look a bit different from what you’re use to. Don’t worry, we’re still the BORED calendar you know and love! As of August 2024, the UVM BORED calendar has been integrated with the University of Vermont’s event calendar to provide a more streamlined and comprehensive submission process.

An account is now required in order to submit events to the BORED calendar.

Current students, staff, and faculty can login using their UVM NetID and password. Those without a UVM NetID (including local venues, organizations, and businesses) can create an account directly through the platform with a personal email address. Alternatively, social logins are available through Google and Facebook. Pick your preference! With your account, you will be able to monitor the approval status of your events and submit edits and updates after submission!

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my event be added to the University event calendar as well?

The BORED calendar and University event calendar now share a submission platform, meaning that your event can easily be populated on both. No need to submit in two places anymore! However, only UVM-affiliated events (i.e. those sponsored by departments or clubs) will appear on the UVM calendar.

How is the BORED calendar different from the University event calendar?

The BORED calendar is curated by our team (i.e. current UVM students!) to highlight events that we think our fellow Catamounts will be excited about. Not all events are appropriate for the BORED calendar and we work hard to make sure that when you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night, you don’t have to look far or long!

Our calendar also includes off campus events that are not affiliated with UVM— think concerts at Higher Ground, art shows at the BCA, and open mic nights at the Vermont Comedy Club! We have an amazing network of local venues, businesses, and organizations that share their events with us. We also go out and find cool events in and around Burlington to add to the calendar, just for you. 😉

How important are Filters on the Submission page?

The more complete your event submission, including Filters, the better! We definitely recommend adding at least the Event Type filter to every submission. Students who use the BORED calendar use filters to search for events, and our website uses filters to organize and highlight content on our homepage. As a best practice, we recommend adding multiple filters!

My organization is not listed on the Submission page. How do I get added to the system?

When you submit an event, you have the option of selecting a ‘Department’ (i.e. UVM departments and offices) and/or a ‘Group’ (i.e. student clubs, as well as local venues, organizations, and businesses) as the organizer. If you’ve used the BORED calendar before, you’re likely already in the system! If not, leave those fields blank and send us an email after you’ve submitted your event. We can get you added (and link your event submission to your new Group profile!).
A perk of being in the system as a Department or Group is that each has its own landing page that displays all their upcoming events. We can even help customize your group’s page with a description and photo! Reach out to us via email if you’d like to explore this option.

How can I add or edit a location in the system?

Email us! If there is a venue that you frequently use, we can likely add it to our location list. Additionally, if you notice that a pre-loaded location is outdated, give us a shout and we’ll fix it ASAP.
