What’s Up With Wicked Wednesdays

by Ruby LaBrusciano-Carris

Brennan’s has always been the perfect place to spend some time with friends, have some good eats, and enjoy some good conversation. Wednesdays are especially good time in the bottom of the DC though, and if you have yet to make it out to one of these Wicked Wednesdays, I’m here to give you the inside scoop…

To get you in the door, you’ve got to know that the most alluring aspect is probably the cheap food! After 9pm, Brennan’s holds specials on favorites like $1 French fries, $3 milkshakes, and $5 chicken basket or burger. Since all meal plans include points, Wednesday might be the perfect time to be able to go out to enjoy yourself without having to prepare for too much of a splurge. It is easy to get a full meal for less than five dollars, which is a lot more than I can say for most venues on campus or downtown! And after dinner, if you haven’t tried the milkshakes, don’t hold back on Wednesdays. Their praise is sung all across campus—and for good reason!

The goodness doesn’t stop there though, because Wednesday night is also when the UVM Program Board hosts their weekly trivia night event! Questions come in all shapes, sizes, and themes, with everything from, “Does the ‘wherefore’ in ‘wherefore art thou, Romeo?’ mean ‘where?’ or ‘why?’” to “Who was the Vanity Fair’s best dressed woman of the year for the past three years?” and everything in between! It’ll get your brain going while you dig into those French fries, and keep you and your friends on your toes all night.

So take a break from the homework grind next week and make the cold pilgrimage to the warm and tasty haven of Brennan’s, and I promise that you won’t be disappointed. But if you can’t make it out next week, don’t worry, because there are fifteen more Wicked Wednesdays this semester—see you there!
